On the last Friday before school started back, we buddied up with our friends for an Austin Adventure Day. We started at Barton Springs for some swimming. Unfortunately, when we got there is was very rainy. We started by touring the museum, hoping the weather would pass. It hadn't quite, so we headed to the park for snacks and what the kids called a "car party." The rain did pass and we were able to enjoy the very cold spring water. After swimming we headed to a fun restaurant, Shady Grove and then walked across the street to a cake trailer owned by Rachel's third grade teacher's mom. It was a perfect Austin day. When asked what the best part was, the kids all said the car party. We could have just stayed in our driveway!
